The complete draft of the Green Lake County Courthouse Redevelopment Study is available here for public review. Preliminary recommendations by the City and County Ad Hoc Committee Regarding the Downtown Courthouse can be found on page 39. The Ad Hoc Committee intends to present the findings of the study and lead discussion on the recommendations at a joint meeting of the City Council and County Board, tentatively scheduled for March 13, 2012 at 5:15 pm at the New County Courthouse.

January 18 Public Meeting Presentation

There was a public meeting on January 18 at the Green Lake School regarding the historic Green Lake County Courthouse in Downtown Green Lake. The event featured a presentation of preliminary findings about the site by Jason Valerius of MSA Professional Services, Inc., as well as discussion about those findings and about residents’ ideas and preferences for the future of the site and buildings. Comments are welcome through January 31, and can be submitted using either the comment form provided at the meeting: Green Lake Courthouse Jan 18 Public Meeting Comment Form (see instructions on the form) or the website comment feature below (“leave a comment”). The comment form from the meeting features specific questions about the site, including a brief survey about your priorities for the site.

The meeting also included a separate presentation by Fran Hill of The Cornerstone Project, providing an update on that group’s effort to assemble a viable collection of uses for the existing buildings.
